An exceptional oval glass bowl with pinched ends, hand painted in the historismus manner in schwarzlot, featuring two huntsmen - one on horseback - their dogs, and a stag, the whole in a country setting with trees, undergrowth, and a castle ruin. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; minor rubbing to the enamel; light wear; one or two tiny natural bubbles in the glass; nothing further found. Circa 1890, Steinschönau, probably from the workshop of Josef Lenhart. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 9cm/3.75in, width 21cm/8.5in, depth 10.5cm/4.25in.
