A splendid biscuit barrel with chromed metal lid, neck collar and handle, the body with a frosted upper and lower section. The clear middle section is masterfully enamelled in black (schwarzlot) and gold with filigree patterning. Condition: very minor rubbing to the decoration; light age and use wear; nothing further found. Circa 1920s, Fachschule Haida, possibly designed by Adolf Beckert. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height including finial 19cm/7.5in, diameter 11.5cm/4.75in.
