An exceptional small crystal carafe with an applied wrythen twist handle, the body with a hammer and battuto technique finish. The finely worked silver mount has a cherub finial, embossed flower and leaf sprays, shell-work, scroll-work, gadrooning, a satyrs mask, and a vacant cartouche. Condition: minor surface wear to the silver; minor surface wear to the glass; light interior bloom; nothing further found. Circa 1900, French, the silver stamped with a Minerva head, and maker's mark for Simon Slisonski, Paris. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 18cm/7.25in, width 10cm/4in.
