A splendid lightly waisted facet cut beaker on a short facet stem and roundel and point sloped base. The front is engraved with a mounted Prussian cavalry officer between cross hatch leaves, the back is cut with seven reducing lenses that produce an optical effect. Condition: light stand wear to the under-base; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; reacts strongly to UV/Blacklight. Circa 1860, Bohemian. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 14cm/5.5in, rim diameter 8.5cm/3.5in.
