A splendid and tall ovoid vase with a triple ring upper section. The purple tinted body is decorated with etched spearhead designs and silvered floral panels, the top is mounted with a white metal band embellished with scallop medallions and ribs. Condition: some surface wear and marking; some rubbing to the silvering and plate; nothing further found. Circa 1930s, signed D'Argyl for Val E & Cie, "Ancienne Maison Effler" 218 rue du Faubourg, Paris. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 34cm/13.5in, width 14cm/5.75in.
