A drop shape porcelain scent bottle with a cork lined sterling silver screw top. The cream ground body is hand enamelled with a gilt highlighted polychrome peacock amongst leafy vegetation, the scene continues on the back with a butterfly on the wing. Condition: light rubbing to the decoration, minor wear; nothing further found; good screw fit . The top hallmarked for Birmingham 1889, maker's mark "CM" for Charles May. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 8.5cm/3.25in, width 2.5cm/1in.
