An excellent circular porcelain scent bottle, with a cork lined sterling silver screw top and collar. The bottle is formed as a double sided plate decorated in the imari pattern, with an additional gilt leaf band around the sides. Condition: very light rubbing to the decoration, mostly on the edges; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; good screw fit. Base of the bottle has a registry number "29260", the silver top is hallmarked for London 1893, somewhat rubbed maker's mark "SM&Co" for Sampson Mordan. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 5.5cm/2.25in, diameter 4.3cm/1.75in.
