An attractive churn shape ruby glass scent bottle with a scrollwork foliate embossed silver screw top - the latter cork lined - engraved leaf pattern shoulder mount with suspensory chain, and silver base cap. Condition: light surface wear to the glass; one or two losses to leaf tips; minor dimpling to the top; nothing further found, good screw closure. Circa 1870, French, very small not identifiable punched hallmark. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 5.7cm/2.25in, base diameter 2.5cm/1in.
