A splendid milk opaline miniature ovoid scent bottle, with a hinged floral pattern silver gilt top; silver gilt collar, suspensory mount, and glass stopper. Condition: light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; hinge firm, good lid fit. Circa 1870, French, silver hallmarked with a boar's head. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height including ring 2.5cm/1in, width 1.5cm/0.5in.
