A compressed globular form dressing table jar, the body engraved with a pattern of triple lines, the base embellished with a twenty four point star. The jar has an elegant sterling silver and tortoiseshell pull-off top with delicate pique silver inlay. Condition: light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; good lid fit. Silver hallmarked for Chester 1917, maker's mark "C&C" for Cohen & Charles & Richard Comyns. Dimensions based on centimetres and rounded to nearest quarter inch. Height 8cm/3.25in, diameter 8.5cm/3.5in.
