A square cobalt glass souvenir scent bottle, with a patterned gilt metal shoulder cover, hinged top with hand painted female portrait, and glass stopper. Condition: some fading to the image; fine hairline to the left side of the portrait; surface age and use wear; some cleaning fluid residue; nothing further found; very minor hinge play, excellent closure; indented polished pontil. Circa 1880, French. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 8.5cm/3.5in, width 5cm/2in.
