An excellent sterling silver cased cobalt glass scent bottle, with a hinged top, suspensory chain with finger ring, and glass stopper. The pierce pattern case in engraved with foliate scrollwork. Condition: some rubbing to the engraving from over cleaning; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; some hinge play, satisfactory closure. Silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1912, somewhat rubbed maker's mark "MH Co Ld" for Martin Hall Co. Ltd. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 5.5cm/2.25in.
