A fine facet cut lightly swollen form crystal double ended scent bottle, with an embossed spring loaded hinged silver gilt top at one end, and a cork lined screw top at the other, both tops have vacant cartouches. The centre of the bottle is mounted with a band of sardonyx and garnet stones, either side are two embossed double zigzag bands set with coral. Condition: rubbing to the silver gilt; small dimple to the spring loaded top; light surface age and use wear; light cleaner residue; nothing further found; lid fits are good. Circa 1880, tops not hallmarked but tested for silver; maker's mark "GB" for George Brace, spring lid interior disk marked "Howell & Co. London" (retailer). Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Length 14cm/5.75in, bottle depth 3.5cm/1.25in.
