A scarce Art Nouveau relief tile featuring a multi petal lotus in graduated pink, with central stamen design in cream and pale yellow, the whole on a modelled brown and green ground. Condition: small areas top right where the glaze has not spread; light surface wear; minor glaze crazing; nothing further found. Circa 1890, deep comb back; unmarked but firmly attributed to Zsolnay by the Doretheum and Pinter auction houses. Framed ready for hanging. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Tile 15cm/6in square.
