An Art Nouveau relief pressed polychrome tile featuring a stylised floral shield design in mid cream, burnt orange, steel blue and aqua grey on a deep green ground. Condition: minor glaze losses to outline high points; some surface wear; factory edge nick (covered in glaze) bottom right; minor glaze crazing; nothing further found. Circa 1900, marked to the reverse for Hemixem, Belgium. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. 15cm/6in square.
