An Art Nouveau relief pressed polychrome tile featuring a stylised floral shield design in pale blue, mid brown and pale olive on a dark olive ground. Condition: light glaze losses to outline high points; one or two tiny edge nicks; light surface wear; typical glaze crazing; nothing further found. Circa 1900, marked to the reverse for Hemixem, Belgium. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. 15cm/6in square.
